Delivers 20,000-Ton Insulated Steel Silo Project
Liaoning Qiushi Silo Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. (Liaoning Qiushi), a leader in high-capacity grain storage solutions, has successfully completed the commissioning of two 10,000-ton insulated steel silos for Qiaofu Dayuan Agricultural Co., Ltd. (Qiaofu Dayuan), a renowned enterprise specializing in high-quality rice production and sales in Northeast China. The 20,000-ton project, tailored for premium rice storage, marks a significant upgrade in Qiaofu Dayuan’s post-harvest preservation capacity, reinforcing its position as a benchmark in the Chinese rice industry.

Based in Heilongjiang Province, the “granary of China,” Qiaofu Dayuan boasts an annual rice processing capacity of 300,000 tons and owns well-known rice brands such as “Qiaofu Dayuan” and “Longjiang Golden Rice.” With the expansion of its high-end rice planting bases and export business, the company faced urgent needs for large-scale, high-standard storage facilities. “Premium rice has strict requirements for storage conditions—temperature, humidity, and airtightness directly affect its taste, aroma, and nutritional value,” said Mr. Wang Dong, Chairman of Qiaofu Dayuan. “Traditional silos couldn’t meet our demands for long-term stable storage, so we partnered with Liaoning Qiushi for their professional insulated steel silo solutions.”
The two 10,000-ton insulated steel silos are designed with a focus on rice preservation, integrating advanced insulation technology and food safety standards. Key technical highlights include:
Triple-Layer Insulation for Temperature Stability:
The silos adopt a composite insulation structure consisting of outer galvanized steel (300g/m² zinc coating), middle 150mm-thick rock wool insulation (with a thermal conductivity coefficient ≤0.038 W/(m·K)), and inner food-grade aluminum alloy panels. This design ensures the internal temperature of the silos remains constant at 15-18℃ throughout the year, even when the external temperature in Heilongjiang drops to -35℃ in winter. Stable temperature effectively slows down rice respiration, reducing nutrient loss and maintaining the unique fragrance of high-quality rice.
Ultra-High Airtightness for Pest Control:
Using Liaoning Qiushi’s patented spiral edge-biting technology, the silos achieve 99.7% airtightness, preventing external moisture and pests from entering. Combined with low-toxicity fumigation equipment, the silos can control stored grain pests without leaving chemical residues, meeting the EU’s food safety standards for exported rice. “Our rice exported to Europe requires strict pest control and residue testing,” said Mr. Li Xin, Qiaofu Dayuan’s quality director. “These silos provide a reliable guarantee for our product quality.”
Intelligent Rice Management System:
Each silo is equipped with a full set of IoT monitoring equipment, including temperature and humidity sensors, grain moisture detectors, and inventory level gauges. The data is transmitted to Qiaofu Dayuan’s central control room in real time, allowing remote monitoring and automatic adjustment of ventilation and dehumidification systems. When the rice moisture content exceeds the safe range (14%), the system triggers an alarm and starts the low-temperature drying function, ensuring rice quality is not compromised.steel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silosteel silo
The construction of the steel silo project overcame the challenges of tight schedules and harsh weather. Liaoning Qiushi adopted a prefabricated production model, completing 90% of the silo components in its factory and transporting them to the site for assembly. This reduced on-site construction time by 50% compared to traditional methods, ensuring the project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule despite the short construction season in Northeast China. “The professional construction team and scientific schedule management impressed us,” Mr. Wang added. “The silos were put into use just in time for the new rice harvest, solving our urgent storage problem.”
The 20,000-ton insulated steel silo project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to Qiaofu Dayuan. It will reduce rice storage loss from 6% to 0.8%, saving 12,400 tons of rice annually. Meanwhile, the extended storage period allows the company to adjust sales strategies based on market prices, increasing annual revenue by an estimated 8 million yuan. The project also supports Qiaofu Dayuan’s plan to expand its high-end rice export volume by 40% next year, opening up more international markets.
“Cooperating with Qiaofu Dayuan reflects our strength in providing customized storage solutions for the high-end grain industry,” said Mr. Zhao Bo, General Manager of Liaoning Qiushi. “We will continue to focus on the unique needs of different grain varieties, developing more professional, intelligent, and efficient storage equipment to support the high-quality development of China’s agricultural industry.”
