SHENYANG, China – Liaoning Qiushi Silo Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. (Liaoning Qiushi), a leading provider of bulk storage solutions, has officially kicked off the construction of a large-scale steel silo project for Harbin Damuren Animal Husbandry Co., Ltd. (Harbin Damuren), a prominent livestock enterprise in Northeast China. The project encompasses 10 units of 1,500-ton steel silos and 16 units of 300-ton steel silos, with a total storage capacity of 20,800 tons, tailored specifically for feed grain storage to support Harbin Damuren’s expanded livestock breeding operations.

Northeast China serves as a core livestock breeding base in the country, and Harbin Damuren, with its annual breeding scale of over 500,000 pigs and 100,000 cattle, has been facing pressing challenges in feed storage. “As our breeding scale continues to grow, the demand for stable, high-quality feed storage becomes increasingly critical,” said Mr. Zhang Wei, General Manager of Harbin Damuren. “Traditional storage facilities suffer from high feed mildew rates due to Harbin’s cold and humid winters, as well as inefficient inventory management. We chose Liaoning Qiushi for their professional steel silo solutions that address these pain points precisely.”

The steel silos customized for Harbin Damuren integrate region-specific design and advanced storage technology to meet the rigorous requirements of feed grain preservation. Key features include:

Cold-Resistant and Moisture-Proof Structure:

Each steel silo adopts a three-layer composite structure – the outer layer is made of high-strength galvanized steel (300g/m² zinc coating) to resist low-temperature corrosion, the middle layer is filled with 120mm-thick polyurethane insulation material, and the inner layer is coated with food-grade anti-mold paint. This design ensures the internal temperature of the silo remains above 5℃ even in Harbin’s -30℃ winter, and the moisture content of stored feed is controlled below 13%, effectively reducing mildew loss by over 90%.

Dual-Capacity Matching for Diversified Needs:

The 10 units of 1,500-ton large steel silos are designated for bulk storage of corn, soybean meal, and other main feed raw materials, while the 16 units of 300-ton small steel silos are used for classified storage of premixed feeds and additives. This dual-capacity configuration optimizes inventory management, avoiding cross-contamination between different feed types and improving feeding efficiency.

Intelligent Feed Management System

The steel silos are fully integrated with Liaoning Qiushi’s self-developed IoT monitoring platform. Sensors installed inside the silos real-time track feed moisture, temperature, and inventory levels, and the data is synchronized to Harbin Damuren’s breeding management system. When feed inventory is low, the system automatically sends purchase reminders; if abnormal moisture or temperature is detected, it triggers an alarm and activates the built-in ventilation system. This intelligent solution reduces manual management workload by 60% and ensures feed supply stability.

The construction of the project adheres to strict quality and schedule standards. All steel silo components are prefabricated in Liaoning Qiushi’s factory with precision CNC machining, and on-site assembly uses bolted connections to minimize welding work, ensuring construction quality and accelerating the progress. “We have deployed a professional construction team of 25 people for this project, and it is expected to be completed and put into use within 45 days,” said Mr. Li Jun, Project Manager of Liaoning Qiushi. “This will ensure that Harbin Damuren has sufficient feed storage capacity before the upcoming winter breeding peak.”

Once operational, the 20,800-ton steel silo project is expected to save Harbin Damuren approximately 3 million yuan annually in feed loss and management costs. It will also support the enterprise’s plan to expand its breeding scale by 30% next year, further consolidating its leading position in the Northeast China livestock market.

“This cooperation with Harbin Damuren demonstrates our strength in providing customized steel silo solutions for the animal husbandry industry,” said Mr. Wang Hong, Sales Director of Liaoning Qiushi. “We will continue to focus on the unique needs of different industries and regions, delivering more efficient, reliable, and intelligent storage solutions to support the high-quality development of China’s agricultural and animal husbandry sectors.”
