Wheat Storage Steel Silo Project Helping Local Food Security Upgrade
We are delighted to announce the successful commissioning and handover of the 1,000-ton wheat storage steel silo project in Thailand. As a major importer and consumer of wheat, Thailand’s annual food-grade wheat consumption exceeds 1.4 million tons, and according to the latest USDA report, Thailand’s wheat imports in MY 2025/26 are projected to reach 3.5 million metric tons, with a large carry-over stock from the previous year due to regulatory adjustments. However, the local traditional grain storage methods are backward, with high post-harvest losses caused by mold, pests, and moisture in the tropical climate, which has long plagued local wheat importers, flour mills, and food processing enterprises. Our 1,000-ton wheat storage steel silo project perfectly solves this pain point, providing a high-standard storage solution for local wheat preservation.
The project features a high-quality assembled steel silo with a net storage volume of 1,360 cubic meters, optimized for wheat with a standard bulk density of 0.75 t/m³, achieving a designed storage capacity of 1,000 metric tons. In line with Thailand’s tropical climate characteristics, we adopted hot-dip galvanized steel sheets with 275g/m² zinc coating for the silo body, which significantly enhances corrosion resistance and ensures a design life of 30 years, fully complying with international grain storage standards and local environmental requirements. The silo is equipped with integrated intelligent temperature monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and automated level control systems, which can real-time monitor the internal temperature and humidity of the silo, effectively prevent wheat mildew and pest infestation, and reduce post-harvest losses to less than 0.5%—far lower than the local average loss rate of 5%-8%. In addition, the silo adopts a cone-bottom design with a 45° inclination, enabling rapid and thorough unloading with minimal material residue, greatly improving operational efficiency.
